Box Score MARSHALL -- They're still trying to find their way.
The University of North Texas at Dallas' Trailblazers fell to 0-2 here Saturday, losing to Wylie College, 71-64. The loss for Coach Josh Howard's troops comes on the heels of a narrow defeat suffered at the hands of Paul Quinn.
After keeping things close early in the first half, UNTD again suffered an all-too-familiar dry spell that found them down 23-10 with 7:45 remaining before intermission. By the half, Wylie led, 43-26.
Then, as if following the script from a week earlier, UNTD began to steadily eat away at the Wildcats' lead, closing the gap to 55-54 on a three-pointer by
Hysheam Weston with seven minutes remaining.
The uprising, however, was short lived and the hosts maintained a slim lead for the rest of the way.
Veteran
Steven Kimberling led the Trailblazer scoring with 17, followed by 11 each from
Vernon Johnson and Weston.Â
Curtis Coleman contributed 10. No Trailblazer was in double digits in rebounds, with Johnson leading the way with eight, five more than any of his teammates.
The men's next appearance will be Tuesday (Nov. 9) when they host Southwestern Adventist at 7 p.m. at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship.
