It was another bitter cold evening in Oklahoma Thursday night (Jan. 20), and the visiting University of North Texas at Dallas Trailblazers did little to raise the temperature. Suffering through a week of one-sided defeats, both men's and women's teams yielded more than 90 points to the opposition.
And Texas Wesleyan is coming to Singing Hills Recreation Center for a Saturday doubleheader. Hardly good news.
The host Science & Art of Oklahoma men did nothing Thursday to diminish their No. 15 ranking in the NAIA poll as they eased past UNTD, 91-74. Not around to see it was Trailblazers head coach Josh Howard, who was back home dealing with a medical issue.
While Science & Arts improved its season record to 16-3 and its Sooner Athletic Conference mark to 11-1, UNTD slipped to 8-12 and 4-9.
  Â
Rodney Belcher's women also slid further down the conference standings as they suffered a 98-56 defeat. By night's end their record had dropped to 4-9 in league play and 8-12 for the season.
Saturday (Jan. 22), the Trailblazers get a chance to salvage the week and reverse the trend when the women face Texas Wesleyan at 2 p.m. and the men play at 4 p.m.
