Dallas, TX- The UNTD women's basketball team loses a Sooner Athletic contest to the SAGU Lions 74-45. The lions started strong and ended the first quarter with a 9 point, 20-11 lead and never looked back. That lead extended to 40-21 at the half. The Trailblazers couldn't find their rhythm offensively shooting just 24% from the field and 14% from behind the arc. The Trailblazers were led by junior,
Kayla James, scoring 11 points.
Sanaa Murphy-Showers and
ZyUnn Cormier followed with 10 points and 9 points, respectively. Freshman,
Zamiah Lewis, provided the Trailblazers with a little spark as she scored a season high 7 points, 4 rebounds and 1 block.
Four Lions scored in double digits led by Agar Garcia and Autumn Moore scoring 15 and 14 points each.
The Trailblazers head into break sitting 1-4 in Sooner Athletic Conference standings. The women have one exhibition game against Stephen F Austin on December 30th and then back into SAC action as they host the Eagles from John Brown on January 4th.
