WAXAHACHIE, TX- A strong second half effort by the Trailblazers just wasn't enough as they fall to the Lions 76-61.

The Trailblazers, (2-12, 2-12) haven't found a way to put together a complete game as a slow first half start gave UNTD a deficit they couldn't over come. 

In the first 2 quarters of play, the Lions (13-6, 10-4), outscored the Trailblazers 44-17, leaving UNTD with an almost 30 point deficit to start the second half. The first quarter was a slow start for both teams as the Trailblazers shot 21% from the floor while the Lions shot 33%. Play picked up in the second quarter with the Lions going on a scoring spree hitting 10-16 from the field while the Trailblazers went 4-16. Poor shooting on UNTS's part allowed SAGU to increase their lead going into the locker room.

The Trailblazers, to their credit, didn't give up without a fight as they outscored the Lions in the second half 44-32, but despite their effort, just couldn't overcome the lead that SAGu built. The Trailblazers got it within 10 late in the game, though, off of play from ZyUnn Cormier and Kayla James. Cormier's efforts led to 21 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals, while James added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

Four Lions scored in double digits in their victory with Agar Garcis leading the way with 16 points.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Thursday at home as they take on the Tigers of Central Christian College. Game time is set for 6:00pm.
