Trailblazers Announce 2026 Outdoor Track & Field Season

DALLAS – University of North Texas at Dallas outdoor track and field announced its 2026 season with 10 competitions and hopes of qualifying for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Asheville, North Carolina, on May 19-23.
 
The Trailblazers are led by first-year head coach Darvis "Doc" Patton, who has been leading the program to new heights in cross country and indoor season thus far.
 
UNT Dallas opens the season by finishing March with a trio of races at NCAA Division I hosts with UT Arlington Invitational (Mar. 14), TCU Alumni Invitational (Mar. 21), and Clyde Hart Classic by Baylor University (Mar. 27-28).
 
The calendar flips to April for the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays hosted by University of Texas in Austin, Texas, on the 2nd through 4th. The Trailblazers will compete in Abilene at NCAA Division III McMurry University, which is a highly competitive meet on Apr. 10-11. The Trailblazers will also be at the Jet Relays on Apr. 11 in North Crowley.
 
UNT Dallas heads to North Texas for its final tuneup on Apr. 17-18. The Red River Athletic Conference Championships are Apr. 24-26 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
 
The Trailblazers will have a pair of last chance meets with SMU Invite (May 2) and Trinity University (May 10) before Nationals.
