DALLAS – UNT Dallas athletics begins its seventh year and sixth as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Trailblazers have featured many unique student-athletes over the years, and we are recognizing their success in the UNT Dallas Trailblazers Spotlight series.
 
MADISON BLANCH (2025-26) was the lone graduating senior from the UNT Dallas women's cross country and track and field team this season. She had a great impact on the program, leading in numerous races as a distance runner for first-year head coach Darvis "Doc" Patton, as he made an imprint on the Trailblazers cross country, indoor and outdoor track programs.
 
Blanch led the Trailblazers in two-of-three cross country races with top times for a 5k and 6k. She finished 14th in the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Championships, which notched her all-conference honors. She was one-of-two women's cross country runners to earn an all-conference finish and helped UNTD boast its highest finish in a conference championship race with a top-three result.
 
Blanch notched personal records in the DBU Old Glory Gallop 5k with a 23:33.4 time and RRAC Women's Cross Country Championships 6k with a 26:06.6.
 
Blanch also captured PRs in the FasTrak Collegiate Indoor Classic 400m with a 1:04.22, TCU Alumni Invitational 800m with a 2:26.95, and Clyde Hart Classic 400m hurdles with a 1:10.73. Blanch added to her versatility by debuting in two field events at the final two competitions of the season. This included javelin throw, which she earned a PR on at the RRAC Track and Field Championships.
 
Blanch earned All-RRAC Track and Field honors in the 4x400m relays and 4x800m relays.
 
Blanch was named two times to UNT Dallas Athletic Director's List. She graduated in General Business.
