Shelia Davis completed her first season after being named interim head coach for the women’s basketball team in September 2024. Davis has been with the program as an assistant coach all four seasons the program has existed, as she becomes the second coach to lead the squad into a fifth season.
This season, Davis guided the Trailblazers to a 9-17 record and 8-16 conference record in the Sooner Athletic Conference. UNTD put together its second-highest conference win mark in four seasons, one shy from the 2022-23 campaign.
Davis has been a mainstay on the coaching staff since the Trailblazers began its inaugural season in 2020-21. She has been part of a program that has posted 37 wins overall and 28 wins in the Sooner Athletic Conference. With her tutelage, the Trailblazers have had six players recognized with end of season conference awards. Highlighting this group is Eryka Patton on All-SAC Third Team and Skye Dugan on All-SAC Honorable Mention in 2024-25. Also receiving conference honors from the program are Zyunn Cormier who was honorable mention in 2023-24 and Second Team in 2022-23.
Kaylyn Minor was on All-Freshman team in 2022-23.
Delyssa Miller had Honorable Mention in 2021-22 and
Mykayla Dumas received the Sportsmanship Award that campaign.
Davis provides a background in being a personal trainer with Shelia's Fit u, which she continues to do since embarking on that endeavor in 2001. Davis was the Head Girls High School Basketball Coach at Bryan Adams High School in Dallas ISD from 1986-01. Before that, she was an assistant basketball coach at Bishop Lynch H.S.
Davis earned her Bachelor of Arts at SMU in 1986. She also was at Tyler Junior College.
