Box Score 2 LANGSTON, Okla. -- For those gathered in Langston University's Gayle Field House Thursday evening (Jan. 6), it was one of those wake-me-when-its-over kind of evenings. The Sooner Athletic Conference doubleheader with the University of North Texas at Dallas featured a full-fledge blowout, then a snoozer.
Still, fans back in Dallas were pleased to know that UNTD's men registered their second conference win of the season against winless Langston. Meanwhile, the bad news was that the Trailblazers women lost their sixth in league play.
After the powerful Landy Lions stormed to an easy 90-64 victory with five players scoring in double figures, Langston's struggling men lost their 13th in a row.
For the victorious UNTD, the operative word was methodical. Ten minutes deep into the first half, it led, 10-2. The halftime margin was 25-11. When all was said and done, the Trailblazers had posted a 65-48 win that upped its SAC record to 2-6 (6-9 for the season).
The Trailblazers continue their northern swing with a visit to Central Christian Saturday (Jan. 8), but for only a men's game since the host women have health problems and have notified UNTD coach
Rodney Belcher that they will forfeit.
