Langston, OK- The Trailblazers fell to the Langston lions in their last road conference game of the semester 71-58. After a slow first quarter that saw UNTD only scoring 8 points, the Trailblazers surged in the second quarter trailing 27-26 at the break. The third quarter was an offensive explosion where both teams scored 21 points each where the score was 48-47 heading into the last quarter. While the Trailblazers scoring cooled off, the Lions kept the heat scoring 23 points to UNTD's 11 points. While the trailblazers shot 40% from the field to the lions 30%, it was free throws that plaqued UNTD, shooting just 10-22 from the line.
The Trailblazers, 1-3 overall and in the SAC,
ZyUnn Cormier led all scorers with 26 points. The senior from Dallas, TX is averaging a conference leading 22.3 points per game and currently 3rd in the conference for 3-point baskets made. Senior
Kayla James followed Cormier with 11 points and 6 assists.
Kaylyn Minor added 7 points and 12 rebounds. The sophomore from Garland, TX is currently averaging 7 rebounds per game.
For Langston, 8-2 overall and 3-1 in the SAC, Koreea Kirksey and Hailey Jordan led the Lions with 15 and 12 points.
UNTDÂ competes in their final conference game of the semester at home on Saturday, December 16th at 2:00pm where they take on the SAGU lions. The game will be played at Dallas College-Cedar Valley.
