UNTD WBB loses Fourth Straight SAC Conference game to Stars 60-42

DALLAS, TX- Scoring consistency continues to plaque the Trailblazers as they lose 4th straight conference game 60-42. 

In the first quarter, the Trailblazers (1-6, 1-6) and Stars (4-9, 3-4) start off strong scoring 12 points each off OCU's Jerzie Bryant's 5 points and UNTD's Mya Bills 4 points. UNTD capitalized on their defense causing 6 Stars turnovers to help with their scoring. The Stars continued their scoring with 7 different Stars scoring while the Trailblazers cooled off shooting just 12% from the field, causing Oklahoma City to take a 24-18 lead at the half. 

Starting the 3rd quarter, both the Stars and the Trailblazers came out strong once again each scoring 13 points with Allysa Pendley and Kayla James each scoring 5 and 4 points for UNTD. Both teams took the ball inside resulting in mutliple trips to the free throw line where the Stars were 9-10 and the Trailblazers were 7-8 in the third quarter.

The Stars surged ahead in the 4th quarter extending their 6 point lead early and outscoring the trailblazers 23-11 with Jerzie Bryant and Ray Osborn scoring 13 of the 23 points. 

The Trailblazers continue to be plaqued by scoring inconsistency, second chance points and putting together a complete game. Shooting only 23% from the field and 1-10 from the 3 point line, while alos being outscored on second chance points 21-3.

UNTD was led by Breniya Arnold and Kayla James each scoring 8 points for the Trailblazers. Arnold, a freshman from Duncanville High School, added 3 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal in 17 minutes of play. James, the senior out of Grand Prairie, in addition to her 8 points had 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. 

The Trailblazers have a chance to bounce back as they hit the road to continue SAC play at OPSU and Wayland Baptist this week.
