DALLAS – University of North Texas at Dallas men's basketball looks to begin the 2026 year on the right foot with a single-game this week as part of Red River Athletic Conference action. The Trailblazers head west for the second matchup of a season series with University of the Southwest on Saturday, January 3. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (MST), 4:00 p.m. (CST).

LAST TIME OUT
- UNT Dallas dropped two games on this road swing before the break with setbacks at Texas A&M-Texarkana and No. 25 LSU-Shreveport.
- DaRyan Willams (Austin, Texas) had the best showing in both games, which was significant given his statistical splits at home and away. Williams recorded a double-double 13 points, 12 rebounds at A&M-Texarkana and scored 14 points at LSUS.

REMATCH WITH THE MUSTANGS
- University of the Southwest enters with a 4-9 record and 1-6 conference mark.
- The Mustangs are 3-1 at the friendly confines.
- The Mustangs have dropped three straight, with losses at Texas A&M-Texarkana and No. 25 LSUS.
- These teams locked into battle on November 22 for the RRAC opener. It was an 87-81 UNT Dallas victory that went to overtime.
- EJay Scroggins drilled a game-tying three-pointer to force overtime for the Mustangs and he finished with a game-high 33 points, shooting 14-of-20 overall and 3-of-6 from three.
- Jalen Williams and Donovan Holcombe contributed 16 and 10 points, respectively.
- The Trailblazers pulled ahead with a 13-7 overtime, thanks Dreyon Thornton (Chicago, Ill.) scoring eight of his 11 points during that frame.
- Crawford had 24 points and was 10-for-17 at the charity stripe.
- Williams registered his other double-double on the campaign and had a career-best 18 points and 12 boards.
- Sedric Curry Jr. (Baton Rouge, La.) tossed in 11 points, while Thornton added 10.
