KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Greg Crawford (Houston, Texas) represented the University of North Texas at Dallas by being among 3,143 Winter Sport NAIA Scholar-Athletes that were announced on February 24.

Each semester, the NAIA Scholar-Athlete list celebrates student-athletes who excel in both academic and athletic arenas. This honor recognizes student-athletes in each of the winter sports who have excelled academically, including basketball, bowling, competitive cheer, competitive dance, swimming & diving and wrestling.

To qualify as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year. This year, the list features an impressive number of student-athletes who have met these rigorous standards.

Crawford is a graduate student that has earned a 4.0 GPA with the Trailblazers. He earned his Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences and is pursuing his Master of Business Administration.

Crawford is a three-time member on the UNT Dallas Athletic Director's List. He also has been awarded SAC Scholar-Athlete, SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, and Academic All-SAC.

On the court this season, Crawford led the Trailblazers with 15.4 points-per-game and 10.4 rebounds-per-game. He is ranked in the top five nationally for rebounds-per-game (at time of release) and leads the league in that category. Crawford also has accumulated 66 assists, 28 steals, and 14 blocks. Crawford has logged 907 points and 553 boards in two seasons with the Trailblazers.
