Under the direction of first-year head coach Darvis "Doc" Patton, the Trailblazers will compete in their first Red River Athletic Conference Championships. The Trailblazers seek to make a statement on an already historic year that Coach Patton has led through cross country and first indoor competition season.
 
The men's 4x100m relay has also clinched a spot at the NAIA Outdoor Championships, which is the first time UNT Dallas will be represented.
 
Several records have been reset multiple times by different student-athletes in the track and field program this spring and training progress has been evident since the campaign began with weekly competitions over a month ago.
