DALLAS, TX- The Trailblazers end their season with a senior day sweep of Oklahoma Panhandle State.
On Saturday, UNTD honored three seniors
Kenyawn Bowie,
Kanntrell Burney and
Tariq Aman.
Kenyawn Bowie is a Communication and technology major from Texarkana, Texas. In his two years at UNTD after transferring from Lamar State Port Arthur, Bowies has played in 26 games for the Trailblazers. Scoring 59 points adding 39 rebounds and 5 blocks.Â

Kanntrell Burney, is a Communications major from Dallas, Texas and transfer from West Alabama. In his one and only season at UNTD, he has scored 213 points while also handing out 32 assists and hauling in 57 rebounds. Had a game high 28 points against SAGU and on 2 separate nights hit 7 3-point baskets.Â

Tariq Aman, is a business major from Coppell, Texas. In his 2 years at UNTD, he has made an impact both in a support and starting role. Scoring 519 points, dishing out 103 assists, while hauling in 74 rebounds along with 32 steals, Aman's impact will be missed. Had a career high 25 points in the Trailblazers overtime win over OCU, shooting 8/18 from the field to upend the Stars.Â
In an evenly matched first half, the three seniors scored the first three times down the floor starting the Trailblazers off on the right foot. Sophomore
Sergio McClain led the Trailblazers with 11 points at the break. The Trailblazers shot 48% from the floor while holding Panhandle to 37% from the field. While the score went back and forth with each team leading at different points of the half, the Aggies took a 36-35 lead into the locker room.Â
In the second half, the Trailblazers, led by junior,
Vernon Johnson elevated their play and outscored the Aggies 38-28. UNTD out rebounded OPSU 20-13 while also holding the Aggies to shooting just 26% from the floor. Capitalizing on turnovers, the Trailblazers scored 23 points off turnovers in a game where the lead changed 6 times. The Trailblazers ended their year 7-18 with the 73-64 win.
