TEXARKANA, Texas – It was an incredible day for the University of North Texas at Dallas women's cross country program as it competed in its first Red River Athletic Conference Championship on Friday at A&M-Texarkana. The Trailblazers made history with their first all-conference recipients, as two finished in the top 15 individually.

Headlining this duo was Naomi Peregrina (Garland, Texas) by shattering a school record in the 6k with a time of 25:48.44. It was her first competition to race with the Trailblazers this season and Peregrina notched 12th to lead the team.

Madison Blanch (Midlothian, Texas) also earned all-conference with the Red River Athletic Conference by coming in 14th with a personal record 26:06.56.

Rebekah Munoz (Dallas, Texas) and Quintasia Isby (Shannon, Miss.) were together in the standings at 22nd and 23rd. They claimed PR's with 30:40.50 and 31:41.76, respective times. Jarina Williams helped the quintet sweep PR's on the day with a time of 36:20.87.

UNT Dallas came in third as a team with 92 points and is the highest finish at a cross country competition and any conference championship since the program began in 2020.

Our Lady of the Lake won the RRAC Championship with 18 points, while host A&M-Texarkana followed with 45 points. The Trailblazers edged University of the Southwest (101 pts.) and Xavier-Louisiana (103).

First-year Head Coach "Doc" Patton guided the Trailblazers to this strong finish after they began the season on October 11. The team had three races total and one other 6k two weeks ago to prepare.
