NORMAN, Okla. – University of North Texas at Dallas men's track and field had representation at the OU Winter Field Fest hosted by NCAA Division I University of Oklahoma on Friday. The Trailblazers traveled with two men's field athletes that each competed in the long jump on Friday afternoon.

Bryson Mcrae (Dallas, Texas) performed well in a field of 10 athletes that scored a mark, placing seventh. His best result was 6.59 meters, which is the first record for the program in an indoor meet. Mcrae also is in the record books for the Trailblazers for Long Jump in outdoor season with a 7.20m mark last April 11-12 at the War Hawk Classic.

The top five result finishers were athletes from NCAA DI programs with three from the host Oklahoma and two from Tarleton State. Mcrae did secure a top distance over three other competitors that scored, including a pair from NCAA DII Southern Nazarene and NAIA foe Oklahoma Chrisitan.

The indoor season continues in 2026 with the next meet at host University of Houston on January 10. The indoor slate has three meets on the docket that month with trips to University of Arkansas (Jan. 16) and Texas Tech University (Jan. 24). After repeat trips to Oklahoma and Texas Tech in February, the Trailblazers have the NAIA Indoor National Championships in site March 5-7 in Gainesville, Florida.
