Jackson's 400m Record Among Trailblazers' PRs at SMU Invite

DALLAS – University of North Texas at Dallas men's track and field team competed at the SMU Invitational to begin the month of May.
 
Jahaden Jackson headlined the Trailblazers efforts, as he broke his own program record for consecutive meets in the 400m with a time of 48.80 seconds. Jackson ranks No. 79 in NAIA and after beginning this spring campaign with the fastest time in the event, he has achieved breaking his own feat multiple times.
 
Jackson added a season-best time in the 200m race to give him a pair of fastest times for this spring at the competition.
 
The 200m featured six Trailblazers, led by Ben Perin with a top-20 finish in a field of 43 athletes and several from NCAA Division I teams such as: North Texas, UT-Arlington, UTEP, North Dakota State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, and host SMU. This event also had NCAA Division II UT Dallas and Dallas Baptist.
 
A fellow NAIA competitor won the 200m from Texas Wesleyan, as Tyrece Grant was the fifth fastest time in the nation with a 20.97 result.
 
Keilond Wright achieved a PR in the 200m, while Julian Adigler and Major McGill IV also ran personal bests in the 400m with respective times of 51.60 and 54.43. Korey Grant claimed a PR in the 800m.
 
Page was the leader in the 800m with a season-best time of 1:55.08.
 
Mcrae was the lone field competitor for UNT Dallas and earned a top-10 finish out of 22 competitors that scored in the Long Jump. Mcrae surpassed a 7.00m mark at the previous four competitions which have spanned the past four weekends.
