Perin's Pair of Records Highlight Men's Track & Field at Jarvis Scott Invite

LUBBOCK, Texas – University of North Texas at Dallas men's track and field continued its indoor season with Jarvis Scott Invitational on February 13-14 at Texas Tech-Sports Performance Center. The program continues to make history, by officially counting its first indoor season with at least three competitions completed. A trio of indoor records fell for the program as the group continues to sharpen its craft for the final indoor meets and prepare for outdoor season.

Ben Perin headlined the results for the Trailblazers as he claimed a pair of school indoor records in the 60 Meter-Dash and 200 Meter-Dash. He broke his own mark in the 60m with a time of 7.01. Perin also reset his earlier school record in the 200m this season with a new best time of 22.19.

Ernest Ayanugo (DeSoto, Texas) ran a personal record time of 22.74 in the 200m and made his indoor debut in the 400 Meter-Dash.

Ayanugo, Perin, Devin Page (DeSoto, Texas), and Markevian White (Longview, Texas) tallied the first result for the men's 4x400 Meter Relay this spring. The 3:22.21 time counts as another indoor record, shattering the previous record of 3:29.18 held on December 9, 2023, at Oklahoma-Mosier Indoor Track. Ayanugo and Page were also part of that race in their freshmen campaign.

UNT Dallas has one final regular season Indoor Track & Field competition on Friday, February 20, at the Crimson and Cream qualifier at University of Oklahoma.
