FORT WORTH, Texas – University of North Texas at Dallas women's track and field continued its great start to the outdoor season under first-year head coach Darvis "Doc" Patton, as the Trailblazers notched a trio of records and continued building on their spring training. The Trailblazers remained in DFW, as they competed at another NCAA Division I campus at the TCU Alumni Invitational.

The field featured teams from the Big 12, SEC, ACC, MAC, the American Conference, the SWAC, along with Division II, Division III, NAIA, junior colleges and even professional athletes.

Several runners improved on season times from a week ago and the full roster got utilized with a few season and event debuts.

Madison Blanch and Naomi Peregrina produced top times in the 800m for UNTD women's track and field, as Blanch reset her own record with a 2:26.33 time and top 15 spot. Peregrina registered a 2:33.27 time. The previous record entering this spring was 2:48.87 in 2022.

Peregrina shattered a record time of her own on the 1500m with a time of 5:24.20, which bested her time a week ago by 3.6 seconds.

The record-setting duo joined Ashli Barron and Quintasia Isby on the 4x400m Relay as the quartet produced another season-best time, 4:20.23, in its second all-time appearance on the event. This will reset the record book for the group.

Isby had a personal-best in the 400m Hurdles with a 1:15.71 time. In addition to Blanch and Peregrina notching PRs on the 800m, Rebekah Munoz gave the Trailblazers a trio of PRs from all their event participants with a 3:07.08 time.

The 800m and 100m were the two events that UNT Dallas had its highest number of competitors with three each. Barron, Jocelyn Owens, and Jada Cole ran in the 100m, led by Barron with a 12.22 result. It was the outdoor debut for Barron and Cole.

UNT Dallas continues its busy stretch of outdoor meets with another weekend trip to a Big 12 host at Baylor. The Trailblazers are at the Clyde Hart Classic on March 27-28.
