DALLAS – UNT Dallas athletics begins its seventh year and sixth as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Trailblazers have featured many unique student-athletes over the years, and we are recognizing their success in the UNT Dallas Trailblazers Spotlight series.

GREG CRAWFORD (2024-25, 2025-26) was a two-year men's basketball player for the Trailblazers. He ranked fifth in the nation for rebounds per game with a 10.4 mark in 2025-26. Crawford led the Red River Athletic Conference in rebounding average and total free throws with 183 last season. Crawford was the only member of the RRAC to average a double-double for the campaign. In 55 games across two seasons, Crawford amassed 908 points and 553 rebounds which helped lead to 27 career double-doubles.

In 2024-25, Crawford became the first Trailblazer to eclipse double-digits in scoring all games played (28). That same season, Crawford ranked fifth in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) for scoring with 17.6 points.

Crawford earned five conference player of the week honors, which included three by the RRAC in 2025-26. His all-time amount of weekly accolades and total in a single-season are the most by a Trailblazer. Crawford did get named All-RRAC First Team and All-SAC Second Team.

Crawford also was excellent in the classroom, earning a 4.0 GPA as a graduate student with a Master in Business. Crawford was named 2026 NAIA Winter Scholar-Athlete, on the SAC Scholar-Athlete, Academic All-SAC, and SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll lists. He was included four times on the UNT Dallas Athletic Director's List.

Crawford etched his name in the UNTD men's basketball record books over the previous two seasons.
