Ft. Worth, TX- The UNTD Men's basketball team opens up conference play with a win over Texas Wesleyan 66-51. The Trailblazers, picked 8th in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings led 33-28 at half-time and carried it throughout the second half. The UNTD largest lead was as high as 23 with three Trailblazers scoring in double digits led by
Connor Kern with 15 points. The 7'3 junior from Prosper, TX, shot 7-8 from the field while also hauling in 10 rebounds. This is Kern's first double-double of the season.
Kanntrell Burney and
Jayden Johnson-Blair each added 13 and 12 points, respectively. As a team, UNTD shot 47% from the floor while also out-rebounding the Rams 39-35.
The Rams, 2-4 on the year, are picked to finish 5th in the conference standings, were led by Kristian Lafayette, Adetokunbo Bakare and Kaden Morgan.Â
The UNTD men's basketball team now 2-2 on the season, play in their first home conference game of the season, Saturday, December 2nd at Trinity Basin starting at 3:45pm.
