GOODWELL, OK- In their first of 3 road games of the next two weeks, the UNTD men's basketball team picks up another conference win 73-61 over the Aggies. UNTD (4-7, 3-5) had ten individual scorers and three in double digits in the win over OPSU (4-8, 2-6) with
Kanntrell Burney leading with 12 points.
In the first half, UNTD took a 32-31 lead to the locker room off of Burney's 8 points in 12 minutes of play. In an evenly matched first half of play, the Trailblazers shot 45% from the floor compared to OPSU's 41%.
In the second half, the Trailblazers extended their one point lead to as much as 22 points, outscoring the Aggies 41-30. Ten Trailblazers scored in the second half with senior,
Tariq Aman leading the way with 9 second-half points. The senior from Coppell, TX, is coming off a big conference week averaging 20 points per game helping the Trailblazers go 1-1 in two tough conference battles.
In addition to ten scorers, the Trailblazers had three with double-digit scoring. Adding to his 12 points and shooting 4-9 from the field,
Kanntrell Burney had 2 steals and 1 assist in 22 minutes of play.
Tariq Aman finished with 11 points and 2 assists, while
Connor Kern added 10 points and 4 rebounds.
For the Aggies, Fred Robinson put on an impressive performance leading all scorers with 21 points and 2 assists in 34 minutes of play.
The Trailblazers head to Plainview, TX in their next Sooner Athletic match-up as they take on the Pioneers of Wayland Baptist on January 13th at 4pm.
