CHICKASHA, OK- A slow scoring second half and rebounds plaqued the Trailblazers as they took an 84-70 loss to the USAO Drovers.
The Trailblazers', (5-11, 4-9), traveled to Chickasha to take on the Drovers of USAO (14-5, 9-4), looking for a bounce back win after Thursday night's loss to the Rams.Â
UNTD put together a strong first half taking a one point 39-38 lead into the locker room off of the play of
Tariq Aman, scoring 16 of his 20 points in the first half. The Trailblazers, as a team, shot nearly 47% from the floor including hitting 3-6 from behind the arc. The Drovers were able to keep it close out rebounding the Trailblazers 26-16, including 9 offensive boards.
Rebounding would become a game changer in the second half for USAO as they outscored UNTD 46-31 and out rebounded the Trailblazers 26-22. Low scoring and and shooting 36% from the floor including just shooting 1-10 from the 3-point line hurt UNTD as they fall 84-70.
UNTD was led by
Tariq Aman who finished the game with 20 points,
Vernon Johnson scoring 13 and
D'Queveus Adkins scoring 10. Johnson added 6 rebounds and 2 steals while Adkins added 3 rebounds and 4 assists.
The Trailblazers are back on the road on Tuesday night as they take on the Lions of Southwestern Assemblies of God. Tip off is approximately 7:45pm in Waxahachie, TX.
