DALLAS – University of North Texas at Dallas Track and Field announced its 2025 outdoor season slate. Led by interim head coach Knashia Dawson, who took over the role in the fall 2024 season as the cross country coach, UNTD has seven competitions highlighted by the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships in Siloam Springs, Arkansas on April 25-26.
 
It will be a busy time for the Trailblazers once they get going, as they will have four competitions in six weeks, with three against NCAA Division I hosts. The season opener is the TSU Relays at Alexander Durley Stadium at Texas Southern University on March 15. The Trailblazers will have two more competitions with NCAA Division I teams, as the calendar flips with the team heading up to Denton on April 4-5 for the meet hosted by University of North Texas. The team also will be at Louisiana Tech for the Jim Mize competition on Apr. 19. 
 
Also during this busy stretch, the Trailblazers go to the War Hawk Classic hosted by NCAA Division III McMurry University on Apr. 11, which is another big meet that will feature some top tier competition at that level. 
 
The SAC Championships will be hosted by Texas Wesleyan and are on the 25th-26th. The Trailblazers have done well at previous championships, returning the program's first gold medalist in an event, Ryleah Fisher, who won Hammer Throw in 2023. Jordyn Stephens and Sa'Nyia Persely also return from last year's squad that took second on the 4x100m relay. Persely also had a silver in the 110 meter hurdles. On the men's side Devin Page, Makya Beacham, Ernest Ayanugo and Major McGill IV finished sixth in the 4x400m relay.
 
UNT Dallas will get a final race in the regular season at its closest meet with the SMU Invitational on May 3. Athletes will be looking for a last chance to qualify for nationals.
 
The NAIA Outdoor National Championships will be the 60th Annual and hosted at Marian, Indianapolis, on May 21-23.
