DALLAS – With the calendar flipping to 2026, so does the next chapter of University of North Texas at Dallas Track and Field, as Head Coach Doc Patton announced the remainder of the Indoor Track and Field Schedule.

The Trailblazers were represented by Bryson Mcrae (Dallas, Texas) last month at the University of Oklahoma.  The remainder of the slate features all NCAA Division I hosts with individuals for UNT Dallas set with aspirations to qualify for the NAIA Indoor National Championship in Gainesville, Florida, March 5-7.

The next competition for the Trailblazers will be on January 10 at University of Houston. The following two weeks are meets at University of Arkansas (Jan. 16) and Texas Tech University (Jan. 24).

February features a pair of return trips to Oklahoma (Feb. 6) and Texas Tech (Feb. 13-14) before looking to prepare for the NAIA Indoor National meet and gearing up for the outdoor season.

In his first year as head coach at UNT Dallas, the highly decorated world class athlete and coach Doc Patton has already turned the culture of a young program around with a historic display at the Red River Athletic Conference Championships for the men's and women's cross country programs. Each competitor broke personal records, three Trailblazers notched first-ever All-Conference honors and both teams finished top 3 for the highest standings at a conference championship. The Indoor 2026 Track & Field Season will be the first time the Trailblazers compete an entire season.
