Patton and Dugan earn SAC All-Conference Awards

3/5/2025 10:00:00 AM

OKLAHOMA CITY – University of North Texas at Dallas women's basketball had two players selected to 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference postseason honors, which the league office announced on Wednesday. Seniors Eryka Patton (Hutchins, Texas) and Skye Dugan (Richardson, Texas) garnered recognition and become the first pair to be on All-Conference in the same season from the program.

Patton was named All-SAC Third Team, while Dugan was Honorable Mention.

The first-year players with the program left a remarkable impression, as the tandem was atop the leader board overall and often were key leaders in nightly box scores. Each player ranked top five in at least one SAC category and shattered multiple program records for the Trailblazers.

Patton across 26 games totaled 239 rebounds and averaged 9.2 to check in fifth in the conference rankings for that category. She obliterated the season record, which was 186 during the team's inaugural season with the SAC. Her rebounds per game was also a new record, with the previous at 8.6. Patton did achieve the record for rebounds in a single game with 19 at Central Christian on February 8. The previous best was 15. Patton also broke the top 10 in scoring with 15.5 points-per-game for seventh in the league. That clip and 402 total points led the team and was 20 shy of matching a single season record with Zyunn Cormier in 2022-23. Patton ranked ninth in the SAC for field goal percentage with a .401 and free throw percentage with .734-clips. Patton came in eighth and was the team leader in blocks with 23, while having a 0.9 average to tie seventh. She held the eight-spot in the league for steals with 48. Patton easily notched the most double-doubles in a single campaign with 11. She scored double figures in 21 games, which included a stretch of 13 in a row. She logged 13 games in double figures for rebounds, which included starting the first six games with the feat.

Dugan appeared and started 25 games and was the league leader in steals with 80 total and 3.2 steals-per-game. She nearly doubled the season record for steals, as the previous high was 45 by Kayla James a year ago. Dugan set the new program high for free throws made in a season with 105. The previous high was 58 by Cormier and Mykayla Dumas in 2022-23 and 2021-22, respectively. Dugan was one-of-five players in the conference to surpass triple-digits on made free throws. The point guard dished a team-high 104 steals and averaged 4.2 per contest, which tied second in the SAC. Dugan passed the previous season record held by James in 2022-23, which was 94. Dugan settled right outside the top 10 in scoring with 14.7 points-per-game at 11th in the conference. Dugan was fifth in the SAC on free throw percentage with a .734-clip and gave the Trailblazers two all-conference honorees in the top 10. Dugan posted a pair of double-doubles this season and tallied 20 games in double figures for points. This included the final four games and nine of the last 10 games. The guard secured at least five boards in 13 games. Dugan came within an assist from tying the game record (9) and three times was a steal away from tying the record (7).
